- Sander Pedersen Lesler had at least four children, 1 daughter and 3 sons. "Familien Koefoed", by Julius Bidstrup, tells us that his daughter Margrethe was married to Jens Pedersen Kofoed (1628-1691). "1000 Aner til en Skovg?rdssl?gt", by Edvard Skovgaard, tells us that he had a son named Peder Sandersen Lesler (died 1688) of Kyndeg?rd in Nyker. Two pedigrees of the Dich-family of Bornholm state that another son was Mogens Sandersen of Gadebyg?rde, 2 Vdg. ?stermarie.
The probate for Hans Sandersen of 11 Vdg. ?stermarie, dated June 7 & 28, 1686, tells us that he had four children: Sander, Boel, Sidsele, and Hans. And that the guardian for his youngest child Hans was "Peder Zandersen i N?ker Sogn". One and the same person as Peder Sandersen Lesler of Kyndeg?rd in Nyker parish. The probate for his Hans Sandersen's daughter Sidsele Hansdatter on January 15, 1712 tells that the guardians for her children were: "faderen og afd?des br?dre Zander Hansen og Hans Hansen Lesler".
In the book by J?rn Klindt, "P? spor af de f?rste Kofod'er", it is stated that Sidsele was living in Hasle with her daughter Margrethe at the time of her marriage to Jens Pedersen Kofoed. According to Kure's farm-list "Sidsel Sanders" owned the farm 37 Slg. in Rutsker parish in 1642. It seems likely that Sidsele died between 1653 and 1682, most likely circa 1671 in Hasle, which is when her son Hans Sandersen took over control of 37 Slg. Rutsker. In 1689 that farm was sold to Morten Hermansen Bohn, later the mayor of Hasle, by "salig Peder Zandersens arvinger" (deceased Peder Sandersen's heirs).
J?rn Klindt and Sigvard Mahler Dam relate that an entry dated the 9th of May 1640 in the "Herredags Dombog" tells us that Chief Justice Mads Kofoed (c.1582-1646) issued a legal decision against the citizens of Hasle, and that the citizens then accused the chief justice of making a biased decision because of his relationship with Sander Pedersen Lesler. They accused him of being moved by "mere svogerskab end det som ret skulle v?re" (more relationship by marriage than it rightfully should be). They used the term "svogerskab" in a wider sense - meaning that the two of them were related, though exactly how is not stated. Possibly they were related through their wives: possibly the mother of Mads Kofoed's wife Karen J?rgensdatter was the aunt of Sander Pedersen Lesler's wife Sidsele.

The assertion that Sidsele was first married to Hans Bendtsen, the "Byfoged" (bailiff) for Hasle in 1616, and owner of T?kkerg?rd, 44 Slg. Rutsker, is based on the following information:
1) A Hans Bendtsen is mentioned in the visitation protocol wherein he appears as town bailiff in Hasle in 1616, and at that time Hasle was part of Rutsker parish: "Hans Bent??n Consul civitatis Haslensis conquestus est Dn. Laurentium de Rodne sumptibus Ecclesi? Haslensis sacris initiatum, ac statim illam ipsam deseruisse" mentioned in the Visitation by Mag. Bishop Poul Mortensen Ostrup in 1616 (it was a complaint over the expenses for the new church: evidently a certain sum of money that had to be paid in due time but hadn't been paid. The "Dn. Laurentium in Rodne" is Lars Olufsen Borringholm, the clergyman for R?nne (source: "Aktstykker over Bornholm", H?bertz, 1852, p. 601).
2) Kure's farm-list entries for Simleg?rd propriet?rg?rd in Klemensker states that from 1645 the farm was held by Anders Hansen, whose wife is named as Johanne Hansdatter, and that Anders Hansen was "Landskaptajn for vestre og ?stre herred" (Captain for the Western and Eastern Districts). Their daughter Lene Andersdatter (c.1632-after 1697) was married to Peder Mogensen (c.1640-1697) of Store Kruseg?rd, 36 Slg. Bodilsker. (Note: Sigvard Mahler Dam states in "Landsdommer-patriciatet p? Bornholm", part 2, SAXO, 1987, that Anders Hansen has been incorrectly identified by Dr. M.K. Zarthmann as belonging to the Lang-family.)
3) Kure's farm-list entries for Kyndeg?rd propriet?rg?rd in Nyker states that "Mads Jacobsen Koefoed" inherited that farm in 1645 from his father Jacob Hansen Kofoed. Mads' wife is named as being Elsebeth Hansdatter, the daughter of Hans Bendtsen. Mads died in 1654, and the following owner is given as Anders Hansen (died 1662), his wife is named as being Johanne Hansdatter, the daughter of Hans Bendtsen. The next owner was the clergyman Rasmus Andersen Bleking, who sold the farm to Peder Sandersen Lesler in 1671.
4) The Aneklubben Rundetaarn database, research provided by Kurt, states that Elsebeth Hansdatter and Johanne Hansdatter are sisters, and that their father is "Hans Bendtsen" and names their mother as "Sidsele"! The database does not connect this Sidsele with Sander Pedersen Lesler's wife "Sidsel". According to Kristian Kure the owner of Kyndeg?rd, Anders Hansen (died 1662), was married to Sander Pedersen Lesler's step-daughter Johanne Hansdatter; and that Anders Hansen had taken over Kyndeg?rd after his brother-in-law Mads Jacobsen Kofoed (died 1654).
5) The Aneklubben Rundetaarn database also states that after Sander Pedersen Lesler's death Sidsele was married to Laurits Hansen, a shopkeeper (kr?mmer) in R?nne. In 1650 Laurits Hansen left the island in order to escape a charge of murder.
6) According to Kure's farm-list for the 37 Slg. Rutsker ("en st?l", later known variously as: Toften, Toftest?l or H?jendalsst?l) in 1629 the farm was held by "Hans Bensen", stating that the farm sat abandoned until 1639; more correctly it was a "tofte" (or a "1/2 bo" = 1/2 farm or plot), with a "st?l" (building) on the grounds. From 1639 the farm was held by "Ole", and was under construction; named as users of the farm are: Sigvard Hansen, Hans Bondsen, Ingemar Hansen. The next entry in 1642, at which time "Sidsel Sanders" (this must be Sidsele - wife of Sanders Pedersen Lesler) held title to the farm, which was again under construction. From 1647 the farm was used by Laurs Hansen of Hasle - probably the same as person as the previously mentioned third husband of Sidsele, Laurits Hansen of R?nne. Later, in 1671, 37 Slg. Rutsker was held by Hans Sandersen - possibly because Sidsele had died? According to Kure's list in 1682 there was a "Sk?de 3-1 til eller fra P. Zandersens arvinger" (= Deed of conveyance 3-1 to or from P. Zandersen's heirs). The N?rre Herred Tingbog (North District Lower Court register) has an entry dated January 18, 1684, wherein "L?jtnant Peder Zandersen paa Kyndegaard lod l?se een af Ritmester Westervaldt til Capitaine Jens Koefoed udgifuen Transport Dateret Ki?benhafn d. 8. November 1666, Liudende paa En gaard i Rydscher Sogn, som Westerwalt sig af Hans Esker udi Dantzig sig tilforhandlet hafr som samme Transport i sig self" (Lieutenant Peder Sandersen of Kyndeg?rd had read into court a transfer given by Captain Westerwalt to Captain Jens Kofoed in K?benhavn dated November 8, 1666, on a farm in Rutsker parish, which Westerwalt had negotiated with Hans Esker in Dantzig to himself), also entered into record was a deed to the same 37 Slg. in Rutsker which Casper Westerwalt had deeded on Bornholm to Captain Jens (Pedersen) Kofoed, dated March 13, 1667. Peder Sandersen also reads into court the deed on the same farm which Jens Kofoed deeded to him. In 1689 that one "Morten Bohn boer i Hasle er antagelig borgmester og kaptajn. Fuldmagt af Sal: P. Zandersens arvinger" (= Morten Bohn residing in Hasle where he is the mayor and captain. Power of attorney for the deceased P. Zandersen's heirs).
7) During the time period in question there is only one entry in Kure's farm-list for a Hans Bendtsen. That being for the farm T?kkerg?rd, 44 Slg. in Rutsker parish, which states that "Hans Bentsen" held the farm from 1610 through to 1623. There is also a Bendt Hansen of Hasle, who held the farm Hasleg?rd, 39 Slg. Rutsker from 1653 through to 1662 - possibly the son of Hans Bendtsen and Sidsele?
Conclusion: Sidsele must have been born between 1585 and 1595, most likely circa 1590. Sidelse married Hans Bendtsen circa 1610; and considering that the Hans Bendtsen obtained T?kkerg?rd, 44 Slg. Rutsker, circa 1610 seems too coincidental to ignore, as it is common that the obtaining of a farm and marriage went hand in hand. The couple had at least two daughters, Elsebeth and Johanne, and possibly a son, Bendt Hansen - later of Hasle. Hans Bendtsen sold T?kkerg?rd in 1623. He is known to have held the farm 37 Slg. Rutsker in 1629, and must have died not long afterwards - probably circa 1630. Sidsele's second marriage, circa 1630, was to Sander Pedersen Lesler, with whom she had at least one daughter, Margrethe, and three sons, Hans (named after her deceased husband?), Peder and Mogens. Sander Pedersen Lesler died in 1639, and Sidsele inherited 37 Slg. Rutsker, still owning it in 1642. Her third marriage, between 1642 and 1647, was to Laurits Hansen of R?nne, who later murdered a man in 1650. Sidsele is known to still have been alive in 1653 and living on a "k?bmandsg?rden" in Hasle, when her daughter Margrethe was married to Jens Pedersen Kofoed. The "st?l" on 37 Slg. Rutsker stayed in the family, first going to Sidsele's son Hans Sandersen, and later to the heirs of her son Peder Sandersen Lesler. - Norman Lee Madsen, November 1, 2007.
