- Hans Mortensen succeeded Oluf Pedersen at Maeg?rd, 3 Slg. Olsker, before 1622 - as "opsidder" and mortgage holder. Between 1633 until 1672 he took turns with Hans Olufsen paying the taxes, so they probably shared the ownership of the farm. Its seems probable that Hans Mortensen had married Oluf Pedersen's widow, and was thus Hans Olufsen's step-father.
On October 29, 1675 there was issued a 12 "Samfr?nder" (kinsmen) judgment concerning Maeg?rd: Hans Olufsen had died, and legitimate due is presumably awarded to his heirs; and from this we know that Hans Mortensen was "Wefst Pedersens hustrues fader" (Wefst Pedersen's wife's father). It was Wefst Pedersen, who the following year was allowed to tender a mortgage offer on Maeg?rd, either on his own or upon his elderly father-in-law's behalf. From these facts it may be assumed that Margrethe is Hans Mortensen's daughter from a later marriage. His family stated that he lived to the great old age of 95 years, however it is not known at which time between 1673 and 1683 he obtained this age. (Source: N?rre Herrets tingbog 1716-22, folio 505.)
Further, in the Hammershus Birketingbog on September 24, 1714 a Hans Jensen Skomager testified that "tjente han hos Wefst Pedersens hustrus fader Hans Mortensen" (he had worked for Wefst Pedersen's wife's father Hans Mortensen).
