- From the Berg?n Evangelish-Reformierte Kirchenbuch:
July 9, 1773: 1/89, die 9 Julij Berg. Copulati Valentinus G. Sareina et virgo Anna P. Fallet.
During this period in the Berg?n marriage book the middle initial given for the newly wed couple was that of their father's given name. In the case of Anna the "P" would stand for Plesch (this name was used inter-changeably with Blasius). I suspect that the "G" in Valentin's name stands for Giargieli, given that the couples first born son was given this name. Also note that the generally accepted naming tradition for the time was eldest son named after the father's father, eldest daughter after the mother's mother. Second eldest son after the mother's father, and second eldest daughter after the father's mother.
Valentin and Anna seemed to have followed this tradition: the eldest daughter was named Anna, after her mother (I believe in this case both their mothers); the eldest boy named Giargieli after his father(?). The second eldest boy was named Plesch (Blasius) after Anna's father.
