- Ulrich (aka Uldaricus, or in romansch: Duri Gees) Albertini was a Captain (Hauptmann) in regiment under Colonel (Oberst) Georg Jenatsch. The book "Rh?tische Familie von Albertini" (by Th. von Albertini, published in 1904, Z?rich) tells us that in "Ponte" (La Punt), on the left-bank of the Inn River, the second house beside the church, was that of Captain Ulrich (Duri Gees) Albertini and his first wife Ursina Rasch?r; it was built circa 1625-35, and later owned by Land-Captain Peter Albertini. In the north-eastern corner of the house is a beautiful, antique room where the following inscribed initials can be found: D.G.A. (= Duri Gees Albertini) - U.R. (= Ursina Rasch?r), dated 1635.
Also in La Punt, on the right-bank of the Inn River, can be found Ulrich von Albertini's second home, which was a large manor house built between 1642-49, for his second wife Maria Skier/Schier. The Albertini-family coat of arms were executed in granite, showing the year 1647. In the house could still be found (in 1904) a very pretty wardrobe on which the initials U.A. (= Ulrich Albertini), M.S. (= Maria Skier), and R.d.Z. (= Rasch?r of Zuoz) were affixed.
Georg Jenatsch (1596-1639) was from Samedan; after he had been accepted in the Rhaetian synod he was a preacher in Graub?nden and the Valtellina. In the wars between the districts of Graub?nden he played an important part against the Spanish party, especially in the murder of Pompeius Planta, the leader of the Spanish-Austrian party. In 1635 he was the right hand of Duke Henri de Rohan, who was in the service of Richelieu and who took the Valtellina from the Spanish. When Jenatsch saw that he was deceived in his hope of the Valtellina being given back to Graub?nden by the French, he became an ally of Spain and Austria and in May 1637 forced the French to leave Graub?nden. In January 1635 he converted to Catholicism. In 1639 he was killed in Chur by friends of the murdered Pompejus Planta. He is one of the best-known and at the same time most controversial personalities in the history of Graub?nden.
