The records state that "Josch Pol Clo" was a parish clerk (scriba), while they are silent on the occupation of "Jodoc Pol Clo". The burial records for Berg?n begin in 1741. No burial record found for a Josch Pol Clo, so possibly he died 1723-1741. There is the following burial record in 1751: 117/7, die 3 Apr. Sepulty D. Scriba Jodocus M. Pol Clo at 68. This places the birth of Jodoc at circa 1683; and the "M." tells us that his father's given name begins with that letter. There were two boys with that name born circa 1683: one born in 1682, the son of Marchett Pol Clo and Mengia Dschender; the other born in 1683, the son of Marchett Pol Clo and Jacob? Buol. Which set of parents is the correct one for the man who died in 1751?
I am not absolutely certain as to whether or not they are the same, or different individuals. I was unable to find any further information on Josch Pol Clo and his wife Anna Pol Clo, so perhaps they are in fact one and the same as Jodoc Pol Clo and Anna Pol Clo - it is notable that none of the children are born within a year of each other. I think it probable that Jodoc Pol Clo (died 1751) is the son of Marchett Pol Clo and Jacob? Buol; and that Jodoc's wife Anna Pol Clo (1682-after 1720) is the daughter of Paul Pol Clo and Mengia Gregori. Possibly "Josch" is the son of Marchett Pol Clo and Mengia Dschender born in 1682 and baptized as Jodoc?
I was unable to find a marriage record for a "Josch Pol Clo" and Anna Pol Clo in the Berg?n marriage book, so possibly Anna Pol Clo (and Josch Pol Clo?) was from another town. The surname "Pol Clo" appears to be an uncommon one - have found no record of it existing in any other community than Berg?n. This would seem to discount Josch and Anna Pol Clo coming to Berg?n from another community, and increases the likelyhood that Josch is in fact one and the same as Jodoc Pol Clo.
