Lauge Pedersen Rafn (c.1540-1620) was a Freehold Farmer (Selvejerbonde) who lived in Lille Velling, farm nr. 1. He was the Notary (Herredskriver) for Holman's district. Lauge is mentioned in records between 1567 and 1618. He was probably the eldest son, as he inherited the first portion of the family-farm and took over the office of "Herredskriver". His wife is mentioned as being deceased in 1623, however no name is given. He had at least 6 children: 1) Dorthe Laugesdatter (c.1570-?), who was mentioned by name in 1625 and 1634. She was married to Villads Nielsen (c.1570-1634), the Freehold Farmer (Selvejerbonde) of Lynderupg?rd in Lynderup parish. 2) Peder Laugesen Rafn (c.1572-1629), the Freehold Farmer (Selvejerbonde) of Lille Velling, farm nr 1. He died unmarried and childless. He is mentioned by name in 1618, 1623, 1624, 1625 and 1626. 3) Karen Laugesdatter (c.1574-1630), who was mentioned by name in 1625. She was married to Lauge Pedersen (c.1575-?), who was mentioned in records dating: May 20, 1600, also in 1617, 1618, 1619, 1620 and 1634; he was a Freehold Farmer (Selvejerbonde) in Bredstrup, near Fredericia, on farm nr. 1. 4) Lauge Laugesen Rafn (c.1576-?), the Freehold Farmer (Selvejerbonde) of farm nr. 1, and later nr. 20. Record on farm nr. 1 in 1623, 1624, 1625, 1626, 1629 and 1630. Thereafter on farm nr. 20 in 1634, 1635, 1640, 1647 and 1653. He was married to Kirsten Thomasdatter (c.1590-?), who was mention in 1638 and 1639. He had children. (additional source: "En Hist.-Topogr. beskr. . . . Holman og Elbo herred" by J.J.
