Notater - Lauge Rafn is the oldest known forefather of the Rafn/Ravn-family of Lille Velling in Smidstrup parish. As "Lauge Rafn" he is mentioned as a Reeve (Sandemand) for Elbo district in 2 documents from 1479. He is thought to have lived in Bredstrup parish, as he is known to have been related to a "Jep Rafn i Bredstrup" who was one of the 3 reeves who signed a document on July 3, 1476 for Elbo Herredsting, wherein the nobleman Thomas Lange proclaimed his lawful right to N?ddebro estate in Elbo district. At that time "Elbo Herred" consisted of 5 parishes (Bredstrup, Taulov, Errits?, Ullerup, Vejlby) and Fredericia township; it was later made part of Brusk Herred
