- According to "En Almindelig Dansk Pr?stehistorie" by S.V. Wiberg (published 1870) on November 20, 1620 Jens Nielsen Jennum was installed as the parish priest for Nyker; that he was born in Jennum in either Spenstrup or Skibet parish, that he was married to Hylleborg Hansdatter, and that he died in 1648: "pr?dictus dom. Johannes est vir bonus et officiosus, optimum ab auditoribus obtinnit testimonium doctrin? et vit?".
According to "Gravminder og Mindesm?rker p? Bornholm" by Aage Kure (published 1999) the following gravestone inscription can be found in the Nyker Church's entry hall (v?benhus), part of the inscription is worn completely or almost gone, so it can not read in its entirety:
"Anno 1620 17 S?ndag [ef]ter Trinitatis den 8 Octobris [blev Her] Iens Nils?n hid kaldet - [Anno 1627] mens Avgvst kom Hylde[borre] Hans Daater hid - Anno 16[48] den [....] d?de Her Iens Nils?n - Anno 16[..] den [....] Hyldeborre Her Iens [....]."
The above translated to English:
"In the year 1620 on Trinity Sunday the 8th of October [was Mr.] Jens Nielsen was called (to the parish). In the year 1627 in August came Hylde[borre] Hansdatter. In the year 16[48] on [....] died Mr. Jens Nielsen. In the year 16[..] on [....] Hyldeborre Mr. Jens [Nielsen's died]."
Aage Kure further states that Jens Nielsen Jennum was first married to Kirsten Clausdatter, who died i Nyker in 162? (c.1627?), the daughter of Claus Hermansen [possibly the same person as Claus Bohn Hermansen of R?nne? - Norman Lee Madsen, January 31, 2011]. Jens was married for a second time on August 27, 1627 to Hylleborg Hansdatter Gudbjerg, the daughter of Hans Gamielsen, the priest for Gudbjerg parish, Svendborg county, from c.1608-c.1640. Kirsten Clausdatter was first married to Poul Kofoed, a burger in Stralsund, the son af Peder Kofoed og Inger Pedersdatter, of Kofoedg?rd in ?stermarie.
According to "Kures G?rdfortegnelser" in 1650 the widowed Hylleborg Hansdatter purchased Tophjem, 8 Slg. Nyker. In 1658 a Hans ?dbersen was the taxpayer for 8 Slg. Nyker; but the 1662 land-tax book names "Hylleborg sl. Hans Jensens" [possibly an error which should have been sl. Hans Jennums? - Norman Lee Madsen, February 2, 2011] as the taxpayer, and again on March 25, 1663 we find mention of "Hylleborg Hr. Hanses" as the taxpayer. So Hyldeborre/Hilldeborg Hansdatter must have died between 1663 and 1689, when the parish register for Nyker began - possibly circa 1667, when the next recorded occupant of the farm, Haagen Hansen, took over the farm.
